FROSTMOON ECLIPSE's CLAUDIO ALCARA To Release STROSZEK EP
June 12, 2009Guitarist Claudio Alcara, best known for his work with Italian black metallers FROSTMOON ECLIPSE, has finished work on the next release for his solo acoustic project STROSZEK. The EP, titled "The Wild Hunt", is the follow-up to the 2007 full-length album "Songs of Remorse", and will be released later this year on the God is Myth label.
Commenting on the inspiration for "The Wild Hunt", Alcara said, "STROSZEK has always been the means through which I can communicate my own view of life, which, like most people's, is largely governed by my moods. The fours songs on the EP are very much influenced by the feelings of depression and introspection that I was going through at the time of writing, and also owe a great deal of their inspiration to H.P. Lovecraft's story 'The Hound'. I've always liked its overall 'Don't Break The Oath' vibe. The theme of the wild hunt is also there, and Todd from the God Is Myth label has already chosen the perfect photograph for the cover."
Alcara is currently working on material for the next full-length album from STROSZEK, which will be called "Life Failures Made Music". "The EP," he says, "serves as a taster of things to come in the new album."
In addition to FROSTMOON ECLIPSE, Alcara is involved in the French ambient band AERE AETERNUS, in which he plays with members of DARK SANCTUARY and MACABRE OMEN, as well as in MACABRE OMEN itself.
"Secret Of The Earth" from "The Wild Hunt" EP is currently streaming on STROSZEK's MySpace page.
